Friday 26 June saw our Mid-Winter Lunch (and movie) at Ryders, Avondale. The movie was Ride Like a Girl, the story of Michelle Payne, the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup. The movie was followed by a roast lunch. 41 people attended, mostly West Auckland Mens’ Rebus members and spouses, but also from Waitakere Combined Rebus and the Historical Society, plus a friend of Vince’s. A good time was had by all. Even the weather was cooperative.
